Delaware Looks to Expand Sports Betting Market

When it comes to the sports betting industry, one would think that the less competition is, the better it is for bookies. While at some point, it is true, because it means you can easily get a larger share of the market. But in reality, having more competition is actually better for businesses because competition drives growth and innovation. These two will help improve customer satisfaction, which will build brand loyalty to your sportsbook. So when you look at sports betting news and you see so many markets popping up, it should not worry those in the business.

In fact, it is a good sign since we know that there is a large demand for sportsbooks. And this sportsbook pay per head authority has seen an increase in registration for bookies, and they are also seeing more activity in these sportsbooks that they provide software for.

Delaware Sports Betting Expansion

With such a large customer base for sports betting, specifically online sports betting, it comes as no surprise to see existing betting markets expand. Delaware is one such market, where lawmakers are now looking to expand sports betting to have more operators in the state.

House Bill 365 has recently moved from the administration committee of the House of Representatives and is now moving to the appropriations committee. The bill aims to allow the state’s three casinos to join forces with up to two online sports betting operators each. Thus, we could see as much as 6 new online sportsbooks open in the state.

Sports Betting in Delaware

Currently, there is only one online sports betting operator in the state, which launched in January of this year. HB365 will add competition for BetRivers, the only sportsbook in the state. The bill will still have a few committees to jump through, followed by approval by the Delaware General Assembly. The Assembly will adjourn at the end of June, so there is still ample time for the bill to be discussed.

The addition of more sportsbooks can give bettors in the state more options, and will eventually have more attractive bonuses and promotions, since sportsbooks will be vying for their patronage. If you have your own sports betting business, you can use this bookie pay per head solutions service to be able to offer betting products with good bonuses to your own players.
